2011 Canadian Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp & Print

Allan's painting entitled Along The Edgewater - American Wigeon has been selected by Wildlife Habitat Canada for the 2011 Canadian Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp & Print. This is the second time Allan has received this honour, the first being in 2005 with Wintering West - Harlequin Ducks. AMAZING ANIMALS by Margriet Ruurs, Tundra Books

In fall of 2009, Allan began working on an exciting new project after being contacted by a book publishing company. AMAZING ANIMALS, written by Margriet Ruurs and published by Tundra Books, will highlight the remarkable things that creatures do and will also feature about 50 of Allan's paintings! AMAZING ANIMALS: A One Man Show, Peninsula Gallery, Sidney, BC

The Peninsula Gallery in Sidney, BC is having an exhibition of all of Allan's paintings to be featured in Margriet Ruurs' book AMAZING ANIMALS. The show runs from September 19 - October 2, 2010. Allan's painting October - Barn Owl will be on the cover of award-winning Canadian poet Patrick Lane's up-coming book entitled WITNESS : SELECTED POEMS 1962 - 2010, published by Harbour Publishing, available in September 2010. Patrick became interested in Allan's artwork after a visit to the Peninsula Gallery and coincidentally, is a former professor of Allan's from the University of Saskatchewan in 1988. British Columbia Ducks Unlimited 2009 Artist Of The Year

Allan was recently selected as the BC Ducks Unlimited 2009 Artist Of The Year with his painting entitled Silent Sentinel - Barred Owl. Limited Edition prints of his painting will be available at DU fundraisers throughout the year. Allan will have Artist Proof prints available for sale in January 2010.
